I do not really know how to start this post, because I am so upset after I witness the tragic lose of Lee Chong Wei against Lin Dan. 21-8 and 21-12 is an unacceptable result for the final match in Olympic 2008. Earthlings, especially Malaysians and Chinese (Republic of China), were sitting in the stadium and in front of the televisions, hoping for a close fight between the first and the second in the badminton arena. However, in front of our eyes, it was not a fair game at all! It was so one-sided!
In the game Lee Chong Wei versus Li Hyun-il (Korean), Chong Wei fought indeed perfectly. He knew the way to control Hyun-il, and finally got the weakness of Li in hand: his backhand. Chong Wei eventually won the game nicely. However, in his final game towards the first gold medal of Malaysia, Chong Wei totally controlled by Lin Dan and his own mistakes made the situation worse. It is countable the number of nets and outsides. Chong Wei can hardly find a hole in Lin Dan's well defended fort to slit a fine needle. The drops that killed Hyun-il were useless, the smashes were well read by Lin Dan. Wherever Chong Wei sent the shuttle, Lin Dan was able to reach it in time. Conclusively, we can say that Lin Dan is superior than Lee Chong Wei.
Besides, it is very obvious that the pressure there was intense. Even in the television, I heard the shout,“Lin Dan, Jia You! (林丹,加油!)” With few Malaysians in the stadium to compete the voice, but deep in his heart he thirst for a superb gift for Malaysia, Chong Wei found hard to bear the pressure. Do you realise he sweat a lot, even in the first game? In turn, pressure may kill by making mistake after mistake. Finally, what a tragic ending.
Apart from the failure, Lee Chong Wei has already became the hero after his victory against Li Hyun-il that secure him a silver medal in Olympic 2008. This is the first silver Olympic medal in Malaysian history! He broke Rasyid Sidek's record, who came back with a bronze in 1996. At the same Olympic, Yap Kim Hock and Cheah Soon Kit came back with a silver too. Chong Wei should be the hero, but he could make it until the end...
Lee Chong Wei's lose against Lin Dan is a tragedy, but his struggle through the Olympic made him a pride of Malaysian. I personally is very angry and disappoint with his mistakes in the final, but I am still proud of him. So contradict...
